Parent Handbook

We are excited to have you join us at our picturesque school setting which is located at the base of Black Hill Conservation Park. Our vision is to provide our Reception to year 6 students with the knowledge and skills to become respectful, creative, resilient, confident and active global citizens. Our diverse school community embraces inclusion and a sense of pride for our collaborative achievements.

We are passionate about building teacher capacity, through quality professional learning and a commitment to professional learning communities. Our caring, committed quality leaders, teachers and staff have developed mutually respectful relationships between students, parents and families to build a culture of high expectations and positive partnerships between school and home.

Students are supported to achieve their personal best in their academic, social, emotional and physical pursuits aligned with the Australian Curriculum and General Capabilities. We are committed to a whole school approach in using inquiry through questioning strategies and thinking tools developing the skills of learners to become strong thinkers and problem solvers in a range of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) challenges and Walker Play investigations. We endeavour to connect our learners’ interests and develop their powerful learner dispositions with relevant real-world problem-solving experiences using inquiry-based teaching and learning.

I encourage you to browse through our website and explore our Facebook page. We invite you to join our School Ambassadors, Governing Council Chairperson and Leadership for a parent tour of our school. We host school tours each term to share what our dynamic school has to offer. For more information please take a look at our Parents Handbook, book a time to meet with me personally to discuss your child’s aspirations and passions, access our Parent Handbook or take the virtual tour.
