3D Printing in Primary Schools Project Showcase – Wayville Showgrounds – 3 December 2018
In Term 4, a group of students and teachers were invited to showcase their learning undertaken in the 3D Printing in Primary School Project. Using Makers Empire 3D design software, students in Year 5, 6 & 7 designed 3D printed prototypes for bee hotels which would be constructed for a proposed native bee sanctuary for the school. Using design thinking, students first identified a problem then designed various solutions to address the problem. This step-by-step process, enabled students to Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create and Improve their designs. They presented their 3D prototypes and final products at the Showcase along with 44 other South Australian Primary schools.
